Baseball movies are special. They're a genre within the sports movie genre, and no sport lends itself to the drama of the screen quite like baseball. They range from ethereal and sincere, like The Natural and Field of Dreams, to fun comedies like Major League. Some tell isolated stories, tiny chapters within the sprawling history of the game, like A League of Their Own and 61*. Others focus on the heartbreak that the game and the life associated with it can bring, like Moneyball and Trouble With The Curve.

And yeah, there have been a few lousy ones, too.
